In the mid-1970’s, Ahto & Hilja Pietilä along with their son Antti set out to purchase an estate of three hectares in Marinkainen and began to grow potatoes.
As demand for their sandy soil grown potatoes increased, they discontinued fishing and contruction altogether to focus on farming. Farming industry has grown massively since then and today the estate is run by Pietiläs in third generation, by brothers Tuomas and Kalle. Our goal is to supply delicious and high-quality potatoes all year round. We deliver to local grocery stores and resellers all over Finland.

The Pietilä farm is located in Marinkainen, 20km north of Kokkola, right by the sea.
Potatoes are stored on location and packaged by us.
We utilize modern and delicate sorting and packaging machinery.

CULTIVATION
We use a modern planting technique and utilize efficient crop rotation.
Crop rotation improves soil structure and fertility, which produces better quality potatoes. In rotation we use cereals and green manure.

POTATOES & SALES
We sell, deliver and export high quality Finnish potatoes washed, brushed or peated all year round from Finland. At the moment we are growing 10-15 varieties annually, such as Afra, Fontane, Galam Nikola, Siikli, Puikula and Rosamunda.
We sell potatoes in following packages:
– 2 kg and 5kg plastic bag
– 10kg and 15 kg paper bag
– 15 kg cardboard box
– carboard container
– 500-1200 kg big bag
